On the June 20 episode of ‘The Kardashians,’ Kylie opened up about how public shaming still really affects her.
In the June 13 episode of ‘The Kardashians,’ viewers saw a preview of Kylie Jenner crying while talking to her sister Kendall. In the June 20 episode, Kylie, who is 26 years old, told Kendall,
“It’s amazing that I still have confidence and can look in the mirror and think I’m pretty.”
Kylie, who created Kylie Cosmetics, shared that after Paris Fashion Week in September, she got a lot of mean comments about how she looks. She tried wearing less makeup because people said she wore too much, but then they complained she wore too little. “I hear mean things about myself all the time,” she said. “After 10 years of hearing it, it just gets really tiring.”
Kylie said she feels “so numb” from people always talking about her looks and wonders why “the internet” thinks it’s okay to do that. Kendall, who is 28, told her, “People don’t treat our family like real humans. They don’t think we have feelings.”
Kylie added, “Last year, I removed half of my lip filler. I hate talking about this again and again. It feels like a waste of breath because it seems like with me, it will never change.” Seeing how much this bothered Kylie, Kendall hugged her.
“I’ve never cried about this before, but I guess it does affect me,” Kylie admitted. “People have been talking about how I look since I was 12 or 13, even before I got lip filler.”
“I think I’m really strong and that I was put in this position for a reason,” Kylie said. “I do see myself as a confident person, but I’m also human, and there’s only so much I can handle.”
“Our family’s been in the public eye for a long time,” Kendall said to comfort her. “Sadly, we have to develop tough skin.”
“I can’t let the comments bring me down,” Kylie said as she tried to feel better. “I’ve got stuff to do.”
