Kristen Bell is spreading holiday kindness by assisting individuals struggling with medical bills. The 44-year-old actress collaborated with social media influencer Tommy Marcus, also known as Quentin Quarantino, to raise and donate funds to multiple health-related GoFundMe campaigns.
In Instagram direct messages shared by Marcus on December 30, he approached Bell with an idea to support one medical fundraiser per day. Bell enthusiastically agreed, fulfilling the remaining fundraising goals of several campaigns. “We need to do more things like this; the world needs it 💕,” she wrote in one message.
In another exchange, Bell inquired about donating a substantial amount, asking, “How can I give 100,000 to people who need it for medical bills? I want to make sure we do it in the best way. How do we do it??” Marcus proposed that Bell match donations for campaigns on his page by covering the remaining amount once they reached halfway to their goals. Bell responded eagerly, “YES!! TOMMY LET’S DO IT!”
Advertisement Bell’s generosity quickly made an impact. She contributed $20,932 to help a third grader named Mia battling leukemia, bringing the campaign past its $50,000 goal. She also donated $24,182 to a fundraiser for Murilo, another leukemia patient, helping to exceed his target.
Marcus praised Bell’s efforts on Instagram, sharing his gratitude for her involvement. “Thank you, @kristenanniebell, for listening to my idea, deciding to be the catalyst to help these [people] get to where they need to be, and for helping us start this movement,” he wrote.
Bell also shared links to the GoFundMe pages for Mia and Murilo on her Instagram Story, encouraging her followers to contribute and spread awareness.
The actress’s charitable actions come shortly after celebrating the holidays with her husband, Dax Shepard, and their two daughters, Lincoln and Delta. The family embraced the festive spirit with outings to Descanso Gardens in California and a themed Christmas tree inspired by The Wizard of Oz and Wicked.
