A cast member has confirmed that the ambitious Netflix Original series will only have one season.
One of Netflix UK’s biggest projects this summer was KAOS, a modern retelling of Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum. But has Netflix renewed it for season 2? Sadly, the show has been canceled after just one season, as revealed in a now-deleted post by one of the stars on Instagram.
Recently, Netflix has been clever about naming first seasons, often leaving out the season number. But KAOS was clearly meant to have more seasons, especially since episode 8 goes to great lengths to set up future events. If you’ve watched it, you likely noticed that too.

It seems that Netflix has officially canceled the show. The news came from one of the stars, Aurora Perrineau, who shared a post on Instagram (now deleted) announcing the show’s end.
“This one hurts.
When I auditioned for this show, I knew it was special because Charlie Covell’s scripts connected with me like nothing else. I loved all the characters, flaws and all.
For the first time, I felt proud—of the cast’s hard work and of myself, which is rare for me. Being cast as a minority and SA survivor, I couldn’t believe someone saw me as worthy of a lead role, with my own story and love interests. That changed how I saw myself.”

Although the show wasn’t officially said to be canceled, the actress did respond to a fan who directly asked if it had ended. She replied, “Sadly, yes.”

The creator has talked about wanting to make more seasons in the future. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Charlie Covell said,
“I think anything is possible, my dream was three seasons. I have many ideas and a clear vision for what I’d like to do with it.”
He ADDED
Covell also noted that even if the show doesn’t get renewed, it still stands on its own.
I didn’t want to create an ending that left everyone hanging. I hope it feels satisfying as a complete first season, and there’s always hope for more. I would really love to work with those actors and that team again. It was like a dream come true.
Like all renewals, viewership is the most important factor in deciding a show’s future. No amount of marketing can bring in viewers or keep them watching until the end. This is how we have predicted some major cancellations in the past, and based on early numbers, it doesn’t look good for this show.
