The comedy series based on Greek mythology was canceled after just one season.
Kaos creator Charlie Covell spoke out after Netflix canceled the Greek mythology comedy series after just one season.
Covell, who goes by they/them pronouns, shared a message on the Instagram page of Sister, the production company. They said,
I’m sad we won’t make more Kaos, but I don’t want that to take away from what we did achieve. I’m fortunate to have worked with such a talented cast and crew, and I’m very proud of the show. Thank you to everyone involved; it was a massive team effort, and I’m grateful to have worked with you all.
Kaos was a modern retelling of Greek and Roman mythology. The show featured Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, who punished the god Prometheus (played by Stephen Dillane) by chaining him to a cliff for challenging Zeus’ power. Prometheus then tried to defeat Zeus with the help of three humans: Eurydice (Aurora Perrineau), Ariadne (Leila Farzad), and Caeneus (Misia Butler).

In their message, Covell also thanked the show’s fans for their “love and excitement.”
I’ve seen subreddits that really made me smile. The small details and hidden Easter eggs you found brightened my day more than once, I’ve been truly touched by your positive reactions to the show — thank you!

The creator mentioned seeing a theory on Reddit “about who or what Kaos is,” saying it was “completely right.”
I hope people keep discovering and enjoying the show. I think there are still some future fans out there who just haven’t found it yet, so if you liked Kaos, please keep talking about it. Thanks so much for watching!
Covell ended by saying,

After the cancellation was announced on Tuesday, Perrineau shared on Instagram that “this one hurts,” but she praised the cast and creative team.
Everyone was amazing and brought their unique talent, Every performance surprised and excited me. I can’t believe I got to work with all of you. We created something strange, dark, funny, wild, and deeply sad — truly human.
