JoJo Siwa talked about her “confusing” feelings about her gender identity in an emotional moment on Celebrity Big Brother U.K. In Tuesday’s episode, the show’s narrator “Big Brother” accused the former Dance Moms star of sharing “secret messages” with fellow contestant Chris Hughes.

In a video shared on Big Brother U.K.’s Instagram, JoJo admitted to sending those messages. When “Big Brother” — the voice that runs the show — asked her what the messages were about, she responded.
It’s something that I’m not ready, necessarily, to be open about or up front about, but it has to do with gender and how do I feel.
Siwa responded

Although Siwa looked a bit overwhelmed at first and said, “This is a lot,” she soon calmed down and shared her growing thoughts about her gender identity. In the Instagram video, you can hear an acoustic version of Siwa’s 2021 song, “Nobody Can Change Me,” playing softly in the background as she says, “You have female, you have male, met a lot of females, love them, don’t feel like I’m them.”

Siwa then said that even though she cares about the “males” she’s met, she’s also “definitely not them.”
Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like.
She said
Siwa mentioned that it’s “not something that I want to say about myself yet,” but she also admitted it’s “confusing.”
It’s important to be honest and I think it’s important to also show that it’s okay to not know.
When Big Brother thanked Siwa for her honesty, she responded

What you are feeling inside is absolutely okay, you can talk about it whenever you decide. No pressure and no judgement, only love and support always.
On her Instagram post, Siwa’s mother, who is currently running her social media, captioned the clip
Siwa also recently shared in a video for Pink News that her pronouns are “anything you feel in that day, whatever I look like, you can call me.” However, what she said on Celebrity Big Brother U.K. was the first time she discussed her gender identity in more depth.
This emotional moment happened not long after fellow contestant Mickey Rourke was removed from the Big Brother house for saying homophobic things to her and misbehaving toward other contestants — including reportedly grabbing and staring at host AJ Odudu.

It’s good to see that Siwa seems to have a lot of support from the other people in the house, and we’ll be cheering her on the whole way.
