Johnny Wactor, known for playing Brando Corbin on ABC’s show “General Hospital,” was tragically shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles during a suspected attempt to steal a catalytic converter on Saturday morning. He was 37 years old.
His talent agent, David Shaul, confirmed the sad news to Variety on Sunday.
“Johnny Wactor was an amazing person. He wasn’t just a talented actor, but also a role model for everyone who knew him. He believed in hard work and never giving up. Even when things were tough, he always stayed positive and did his best, We were lucky to have known Johnny. He was so generous, he would literally give you the shirt off his back. After more than ten years together, we will miss him deeply.”

The L.A. Police Department reported that around 3 a.m. on Saturday, a man was shot and killed by one of three people trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. He was taken to a local hospital but did not survive.
Johnny Wactor played Brando Corbin on “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022, appearing in over 160 episodes. Brando was the son of Gladys Corbin and married to Sasha Corbin.
Wactor’s TV debut was on the Lifetime drama “Army Wives,” where he appeared in various guest roles from 2007 to 2009. He also guest-starred on many shows, including “Westworld,” “The OA,” “Station 19,” “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS,” and “Animal Kingdom.”
After “Army Wives,” Johnny Wactor acted in several short films starting in 2010, such as “The Grass Is Never Greener,” “GoldenBox,” “The Con-Artist,” and “Flyover States.” In 2022, he wrote and starred in a short film called “Broken Riders.”
Wactor also appeared in feature films, including “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” in 2016, which starred Nicolas Cage. He was also in movies like “Menthol,” “Ever,” “Trapper’s Edge,” “Supercell,” and “Dead Talk Tales: Volume I.”
