Joe Keery is opening up about the emotional end of Stranger Things.
The 32-year-old actor, who has played fan-favorite Steve Harrington since the show’s debut in 2016, reflected on wrapping up the Netflix phenomenon while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Jan. 28.

With Stranger Things concluding after nearly a decade, Keery admitted the final days on set were filled with mixed emotions.
To wrap it all up and the anticipation of working on something for so long — I mean, it’s been one-third of my life, really.

Keery also stayed behind to watch his castmates finish their scenes, taking in every moment before saying goodbye.

His comments come weeks after Netflix confirmed filming for Stranger Things Season 5 had officially wrapped on Dec. 10. The streaming giant marked the milestone with behind-the-scenes photos, while cast members shared their heartfelt tributes to the series.
We just wrapped Stranger Things Season 5. I’m still in shock. We shot it for a year and I’ll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly.
