Joe Alwyn has thrown his name into the mix of potential James Bond contenders, revealing that he’d be more than willing to take on the iconic role.
The Brutalist star, who has been frequently mentioned in fan discussions about the next 007, responded to the buzz while attending the 2025 Oscars.
In a red carpet interview with Variety, Alwyn was asked if he’d be interested in playing the legendary British spy. Flashing a smile, he replied enthusiastically, “Wow. Who wouldn’t want to throw their hat in the ring, you know? Yeah.” He even playfully added, “If you’re offering.”
Alwyn’s Take on Bond’s Signature Drink
The conversation took a lighthearted turn when Alwyn was quizzed on how he prefers his martinis “shaken or stirred” a direct nod to James Bond’s famous cocktail order. “I like both. I do, I do. That’s the problem!” he admitted.
Alwyn, who made his film debut in Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, has since built an impressive résumé. He has starred in Mary Queen of Scots alongside Margot Robbie, David Tennant, and Guy Pearce, and in 2024, he reunited with Pearce for The Brutalist, portraying Harry Lee Van Buren, the son of Pearce’s character, Harrison Lee Van Buren.
