Jennifer Lawrence revealed she didn’t need an intimacy coordinator while filming her new movie Die My Love with Robert Pattinson saying she felt completely safe working with him.
During an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast as part of her film’s press tour, Lawrence said, “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob. He is not pervy and very in love with [partner] Suki Waterhouse.”
She added that their on-set rapport was professional and friendly, noting, “We mostly were just talking about our kids and relationships. There was never any weird like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that I would probably have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to fuck them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that.”
Directed by Lynne Ramsay, the psychological drama follows a woman’s descent into psychosis after childbirth, with Pattinson portraying her increasingly detached husband.
Lawrence, who has earned critical acclaim and early Oscar buzz for her performance, also discussed her comfort with nudity in the film. She shot several nude scenes while pregnant with her second child and said the experience freed her from body-image concerns.
“I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it,” Lawrence said. “I wanted Lynne to have total freedom artistically… I think being pregnant took a lot of, like, vanity anxiety away.”
She recalled production moments when the team offered to retouch her body: “I remember, like, them sending over a close-up of cellulite and being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ And I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass.’”
