Jamie Oliver has been working for over 20 years to make things better, and now he’s focusing on the school system in a powerful new documentary on Channel 4.
Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution, which airs tonight (Monday 9 June), looks at how schools affect kids with dyslexia – and it’s a show that will touch many people.
On Instagram, Jamie shared an emotional message to promote the show, saying it’s not the kids who are the problem – it’s the system.
The kid isn’t broken, the system is broken.
he said
Jamie has always been open about having dyslexia himself, and now he’s trying to show the struggles that thousands of kids with dyslexia face in an outdated school system.
Because dyslexia affects so many of us or people we care about, this documentary is likely to connect with everyone.

Out of 100 kids, at least 10 are dyslexic, but only 2 are diagnosed at school…early identification changes lives. Ccan’t just sit back and watch this continue.
Jamie wrote on Instagram. Later He Reffered to the struggles with “confidence, self-esteem and anxiety,” which he says can occur in children with dyslexia, especially if not identified as having the condition early.

I want every child to have a universal dyslexia screening check within their first two years of school. I want every educator to have the training to teach every child, not just the 75% of kids who fit the current system.
To tackle these issues, Jamie revealed he’s pushing for three specific changes. He added that, to make these goals a reality, he was going right to the top and challenging the government to do more.
Other well-known people in the programme include presenter Holly Willoughby, who talks about her own journey with dyslexia. Jamie also shared that he made a special piece of music based on the topic. He worked with musician Tobie Tripp and an orchestra to create music that shows “the emotions I felt from some of the kids I met struggling with dyslexia,” and this music is part of the documentary.
