The series primary storyline will conclude with “Last Rites,” but spinoffs, such as the “Annabelle” films, could continue with more installments.
James Wan, the mastermind behind scary movies, has posted the first behind-the-scenes picture from the final movie of the Conjuring series.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have played the real-life ghost-hunting couple since 2013. They’ll face their final spooky battle in next year’s movie, The Conjuring: Last Rites.
The fourth and last Conjuring movie started being worked on in 2022, a year after the third movie, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, came out, and while they were filming The Nun II in France.

Even though this will be the final time we see Patrick Wilson as a demon expert and Vera Farmiga as a medium fighting evil spirits, the spooky universe will keep growing. The Conjuring: Last Rites will end the main story, but other movies like The Nun and Annabelle will keep going.
Each Conjuring movie with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga shows a real ghost-hunting case that the couple they play worked on. The first movie was about the Perron family’s haunted house in the 1970s.
The second movie, The Conjuring 2, told the story of the famous Enfield poltergeist in the U.K. The third movie, The Devil Made Me Do It, was based on a murder case where the killer said a demon made him do it.
The Conjuring universe now includes three main movies with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, two movies about the evil nun Valak starring Taissa Farmiga, three movies about the haunted doll Annabelle, and a standalone movie called The Curse of La Llorona, which has a quick appearance from Annabelle and other small Conjuring connections.
A third Nun movie and a fourth Annabelle movie haven’t been announced yet. However, James Wan, the creator, is working on many other projects. A Conjuring TV show is being made for Max, which was announced last April.
Wan is also working on Teacup, a show based on a book called Stinger for Peacock, a live-action Gargoyles series for Disney+, and a movie called The Monkey, which brings him together with famous horror author Stephen King and director Osgood Perkins.
