It: Welcome to Derry terrified its way into HBO Max history with a massive debut, drawing 5.7 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max within its first three days.
According to multiplatform data, the prequel to Stephen King’s It now ranks as the third biggest series premiere on HBO Max, trailing only behind House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.

Set in the chilling universe of It and It Chapter Two, the new series expands on the mythology crafted by Andy Muschietti. The prequel was developed for television by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs.
The cast features Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Blake Cameron James, Arian S. Cartaya, Amanda Christine, Matilda Lawler, Clara Stack, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as Pennywise.
To celebrate Halloween, HBO Max will release Episode 2 early on Friday, October 31 at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET, ahead of its regular Sunday 9:00 p.m. ET/PT slot on November 2. The eight-episode season will continue to air weekly on HBO and HBO Max.
