Iain Stirling is the voice you hear every night on Love Island USA, making jokes about the Islanders. The comedian recently talked about a joke he made on the Peacock dating show that didn’t go over well with fans.
In a recent interview, Stirling talked about mentioning fan-favorite Islander Jeremiah Brown, who was sent home by the other Islanders in one of the season’s surprising twists. After he left the villa, viewers were hoping he’d come back to the show, especially after a rough patch with Huda Mustafa.
In Episode 21, Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe got another shot to return to the villa after being dumped, and Stirling joked that Jeremiah was coming back as “their waiter on their date.”
I’ll be honest, it was, perhaps, a misjudgment by me. I genuinely thought people would appreciate the nod to him, because we very rarely talk about it, but if you think about it, it’s an unwritten rule that I never really joke about the islanders once they’ve gone. I’ll maybe do a joke as they’re leaving. So it’s a big deal. It was a genuine statement of love that I mentioned Jeremiah after he’d already left the show, I thought people would be, ‘Oh, that’s funny.’ He was such an intrinsic part of the show. Some people did take it as such, and then some people sadly didn’t, and I apologize to those people.

The comedian not only narrates Love Island USA but also continues to narrate Love Island UK for ITV2. As Love Island USA has become more popular, Stirling has announced two dates for his stand-up comedy show in the United States.

Stirling will perform at the Improv in Los Angeles on October 22, 2025, and then in New York City on October 29, 2025, at the Manhattan Gramercy Theatre. In a recent interview with Deadline, Stirling discussed his excitement about bringing his comedy to the U.S.
Hopefully, people that have enjoyed me on Love Island, and particularly enjoyed my voice, just sort of seeing what I’ve been doing for 15 years, which is stand-up. It’s my chance to show America that this is what I do and I’m not just a guy in a dark room behind a microphone.
