HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt, a top contender in the 2025 Emmy drama race, has finalized its submissions.
Noah Wyle, who stars in the show, also serves as a writer and executive producer. He’s submitted for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, the dedicated senior doctor at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Wyle and the show’s creator R. Scott Gemmill, are entered in the Writing for a Drama Series category.
In Directing for a Drama Series, executive producer John Wells and Amanda Marsalis are nominated. Wyle, Gemmill, and Wells are part of the production team that’s submitted the show for Outstanding Drama Series.
All of Wyle’s main castmates, who play mostly medical residents, are entered for Supporting Actor or Actress in a Drama Series. This includes Patrick Ball (Dr. Frank Langdon), Gerran Howell (Dennis Whitaker), Shabana Azeez (Victoria Javadi), Isa Briones (Dr. Trinity Santos), Taylor Dearden (Dr. Melissa “Mel” King), Fiona Dourif (Dr. Cassie McKay), Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Samira Mohan), Tracy Ifeachor (Dr. Heather Collins), and Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans).

Three guest stars are also in the running: Shawn Hatosy (Dr. Jack Abbot), Mackenzie Astin, and Rebecca Tilney, who play adult siblings dealing with their father’s do-not-resuscitate order.
The Pitt is also aiming for nominations in several other areas, including Casting, Cinematography, Picture Editing, Production Design, Contemporary Costumes, and both Prosthetic and Non-Prosthetic Makeup. It also seeks recognition in Music Composition, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing, reflecting the series’ dramatic medical themes and complex cases.
