A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin might be planning a new project with Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams. In a recent blog post, he hinted at a fun team-up with a mysterious message.
On his website, George R.R. Martin shared details about his recent trip to London. While there, he met up with Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, for pizza and pasta.
We met up with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta and talked about… well, I better not say more—I don’t want to jinx it. But it could be really fun!

Martin hinted at a possible project with her, saying, “It could be so much fun,” but he didn’t reveal more, not wanting to “jinx it.” Currently, a few Game of Thrones spinoffs are being developed, and Martin praised one of them, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, for staying true to his books.

Though Martin’s fantasy world from A Song of Ice and Fire is perfect for TV, no spin-offs with Maisie Williams have been confirmed yet. Williams began acting in 2011 as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, earning two Emmy nominations. She’s also appeared as Ashildr in Doctor Who and starred as Rahne Sinclair in the 2020 X-Men movie The New Mutants with Anya Taylor-Joy.
The Game of Thrones series aired on HBO from 2011 to 2019, covering eight seasons and 73 episodes. After it ended, HBO started House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones and the second show in Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire world. House of the Dragon is still ongoing, with Season 3 set to start filming in early 2025, and the show is expected to wrap up after its fourth season.
Earlier this year, it was announced that a spin-off about Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, had been canceled, but other Game of Thrones spin-offs are still in the works. One of these is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a prequel based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg. It will star Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. This series is set to premiere in 2025 with six episodes.
Another spin-off about Aegon’s Conquest and the Targaryen family is also being developed, along with an animated series about the Sea Snake’s adventures, which Martin mentioned in a blog at the end of 2023.
