The comedian joked: “I’ve subjected the American people to enough of my crap”.
Comedy legend George Lopez, one of the industry’s most celebrated figures of the past 50 years, has announced his retirement from stand-up.

In a preview shared by Deadline from the Tamron Hall Show, Lopez revealed that his upcoming special on Amazon Prime Video will be “the last one,”.
It seems like the right time. It’s been the one thing that has just never left me my whole life and it’s a wonderful place to leave it at this particular point.
the Blue Beetle actor said
George Lopez’s team didn’t answer Entertainment Weekly’s request for a comment right away. Lopez was on the Tamron Hall Show with his daughter, Mayan. They both star together in the NBC comedy show Lopez vs. Lopez.
I want to spend more time with her, rubbing Mayan’s shoulder and adding, I love the show.

The new comedy special, which doesn’t have a release date yet, was filmed at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on September 27 and 28 during Lopez’s ALLLRIIIIGHHTTT! Comedy tour. His last special, We’ll Do It for Half, came out on Netflix in 2020. Lopez has also been in other specials like America’s Mexican, Tall, Dark, and Chicano, It’s Not Me, It’s You, and The Wall for HBO.
Lopez began his career in stand-up comedy in the 1980s, eventually appearing on late-night shows like The Arsenio Hall Show and The Johnny Carson Show. In 1992, he told the Los Angeles Times that he wanted to have his TV show, like Jerry Seinfeld or Roseanne Barr, where he could be in charge of everything because the “parts that they write are horrible for Latinos.”

Lopez eventually got his own show, a popular sitcom called George Lopez, which aired for six seasons on ABC and even won a Creative Arts Emmy award in 2005.
In 2009, George Lopez became the first Mexican American to host an English-language late-night show when TBS premiered Lopez Tonight.
The show Lopez vs Lopez will start its third season on Oct. 18. Like in his other show, George Lopez plays a character named George Lopez. In this new show, he is a moving company owner who has to live with his daughter, Mayan, after he goes bankrupt.
The series also stars The Daily Show’s Al Madrigal, Sabrina the Teenage Witch’s Caroline Rhea, and EGOT winner Rita Moreno. It has also had guest stars like Harvey Guillén, Snoop Dogg, and Vanderpump Rules’ Scheana Shay.
