Gabriel Macht isn’t rushing back to Hollywood anytime soon.
Shortly after revealing that he and his wife, Jacinda Barrett, moved out of the US, the Suits star opened up about why he has little desire to return to acting aside from making a special exception for the upcoming spinoff, Suits: LA.
I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now. Because I spent so much time [doing it].
Macht told People in an interview published Jan. 29
At 53, Macht is prioritizing other endeavors, including his role as a creative partner for Bear Fight Whiskey and focusing on raising his two children: daughter Satine, 17, and son Luca, 10.
This was my time to really raise my kids, and to do this creative stuff like Bear Fight.
he continued
Why He’s Returning for ‘Suits: LA’
So why is he making an exception for Suits: LA, which premieres Feb. 25 on NBC? According to the actor, it’s not about him—it’s for the fans.
I’m just doing it for the fans. I’m not doing it for me. I’ve done it 134 times. I’m not doing it for me.
Macht admitted
He also shared that he wanted to support Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who also penned the new spinoff, as well as the show’s cast, which includes Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg.
If I [could have] anything to do with helping support the show and getting it off [the ground], It’s almost like [giving] a blessing.
he explained
Enjoying Life Away from Hollywood
Despite briefly stepping back into Harvey Specter’s shoes, Macht has no regrets about stepping away from the spotlight.
I don’t tell anybody where I live because I like to keep that under wraps. I got out of town and we’re exploring the world.
he told People in an interview published Jan. 27
Although his Hollywood future remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Gabriel Macht is living life on his own terms.
