The first name linked to the new season is fitness enthusiast Aaron Buckett. Hailing from London, Aaron stands at a towering 6 feet 5 inches and often flaunts his muscular physique on social media—sure to grab attention in the villa.
The 2025 summer edition of Love Island will mark the show’s 12th season since its revival on ITV in 2015. Following the buzz created by casting The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex in the 2024 season, producers are reportedly eager to put together another headline-worthy cast for this year.
Producers are hopeful that Aaron’s charm, along with his striking looks and athletic build, will make him a standout in the villa. With Love Island usually kicking off in early June, the new season could be just around the corner.
A source told The Sun about Aaron’s casting:
It’s a fact of life that girls go crazy for a tall lad and Aaron is a man mountain. He’s got great chat too. Aaron is in the mix for this year’s cast but execs are still finalising whether he’ll be in the opening line-up or as a tempting bombshell.
The Love Island cast for series 12 is yet to be confirmed. The Islanders for the new series will be announced in due course.
When asked for comment, an ITV spokesperson said
While the exact start date hasn’t been revealed yet, host Maya Jama has been building excitement for the upcoming season. The 30-year-old recently took to Instagram Stories, urging her followers to stay tuned. The video featured a letter that read: “Attention: Love Island is coming soon. Attendance mandatory. Signed, CEO of love, Maya x.”

Not long after, the official Love Island account reposted the clip, adding the caption: “100% our type on paper.” The update thrilled fans, who responded with excitement over the upcoming series.
Hopefuls still have the chance to apply to be part of the show. The official Love Island application website states: “ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of love!
The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island. If you think you’ve got what it takes, then we want to hear from you straight away.
Strict rules apply for anyone looking to gain fame through the show—including a requirement that all applicants must be at least 18 years old. Over the years, several reality stars have launched their careers after appearing on Love Island.
While an official start date hasn’t been announced yet, Love Island will be available to watch on ITV2 and stream on ITVX.
