Devon Sawa is open to returning to the Final Destination series. In a recent interview, the Chucky actor confirmed that he would “definitely come back” if given the opportunity. However, he has already clarified that he won’t be appearing in the upcoming Final Destination: Bloodlines, the franchise’s sixth film. Still, he seems eager to revisit the role that helped launch his career in 2000.
In the original movie, which just marked its 25th anniversary (feeling old yet?), Sawa played Alex Browning, the first character to have a vision that allowed him and others to escape a deadly plane explosion. But as the survivors learned, death has a way of catching up.

Since Alex’s death happened off-screen, horror fans know that leaves room for a potential return—because in this genre, anything is possible if there’s nobody.
Final Destination is just one of many horror films in Devon Sawa’s long list of roles. A year before starring in James Wong’s thriller, he appeared alongside Seth Green and Jessica Alba in Rodman Flender’s horror-comedy Idle Hands.

More recently, he took on five roles throughout the three-season run of Don Mancini’s Chucky series. Earlier this year, Sawa returned to the big screen in the horror-themed romantic comedy Heart Eyes, starring alongside Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt.
Being part of Chucky, Final Destination, Idle Hands, all this stuff, it’s what I like to do. It’s what I like to watch, so I like to do as much of it as I can.
Speaking about his love of the genre, Sawa added
After this year’s Academy Awards In Memoriam segment left out genre icon Tony Todd, horror fans were disappointed and confused. Best known for playing the title role in the Candyman series, Todd also appeared in Final Destination as the eerie mortician William Bludworth. Reflecting on a strangely fitting memory with the “wonderful” and “cool” actor, Sawa shared his thoughts.
A few years ago, we were [randomly] on a plane together. We [took] a picture and it was kind of like, ‘Oh my God, Tony Todd and me on a plane? What are the chances?
