“Euphoria” Season 3 is still set to start filming in January 2025, HBO/Max head Casey Bloys confirmed. This follows HBO’s earlier announcement, which marked nearly three years since Season 2 first premiered. Bloys assured fans that the plan for production is still moving forward as scheduled.
Recently, some main cast members have taken on other big roles that could clash with the planned “Euphoria” filming schedule.
Zendaya was just announced to join Christopher Nolan’s new film, which is expected to start filming in early 2025. She may also return as MJ in “Spider-Man 4,” also set to shoot in 2025. Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi will star with Margot Robbie in Emerald Fennel’s new version of “Wuthering Heights,” planned to film in the U.K. that same year.
The main cast of “Euphoria” features Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane. Angus Cloud, who became popular as Fezco, sadly passed away at 25 in July 2023. Some cast members, like Barbie Ferreira, have also shared that they won’t be returning for the next season.
According to Variety, series creator Sam Levinson shared his ideas for Season 3 with HBO in late 2023 and early 2024. His ideas included a five-year time jump and possible storylines for Rue (Zendaya), like her becoming a private investigator. However, HBO decided to put the show on hold to keep it creatively consistent with the first two seasons.

In addition to its great ratings, “Euphoria” has been a strong contender for awards at HBO. The show has earned 25 Emmy nominations and won nine times. Zendaya won two Emmys for best actress in a drama, and Colman Domingo won for Best Guest Actor in a Drama. Sam Levinson also won a DGA award for directing the Season 2 episode “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird.”
Zendaya serves as an executive producer on “Euphoria,” alongside Sam Levinson, who is also the executive producer and director. Other executive producers include Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein. Kevin Turen was also an executive producer but sadly passed away at 44 in November 2023.
