In a heartfelt video for his new song “Temporary,” Eminem shares the emotional news that he’s going to be a grandfather.
The song, part of Eminem’s newest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), is a tribute to his daughter Hailie Jade. At the end of the video, she surprises him with a jersey that says “Grandpa” and shows him her ultrasound picture.
The video shows a collection of moments of Eminem and Hailie over the years, mixed with clips from her wedding in May. In the video, he holds back tears when he sees her in her white dress for the first time, and they share a dance while everyone watches.
Hailie shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram by posting pictures with her husband and writing the caption, “Mom & dad est. 2025.” She first met her husband, Evan McClintock, while they were both attending Michigan State University in 2016.
“Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey, is one of two songs on The Death of Slim Shady that Eminem wrote for his kids. Another song from the album, “Somebody Save Me,” featuring Jelly Roll, is his way of saying sorry to his children for the times he wasn’t the best father.
