Elon Musk is celebrating Donald Trump’s win over Kamala Harris in his usual way — by posting memes and emojis on social media. As the owner of X (formerly Twitter), Musk has become one of Trump’s biggest supporters in the last few months of the campaign, using his huge platform to rally up MAGA fans.
Now that Trump’s win is nearly official, Musk is enjoying the moment by claiming that America is free again and even picturing himself in the White House.
In another post, he said,
Musk, one of the wealthiest people in the world because of his role at Tesla, shared a meme of himself in the Oval Office with the caption: “Let that sink in.”
The image reminded people of when Musk took over Twitter, walking into the company’s office holding a bathroom sink. Musk also posted a message calling himself the “CTO of the USA,” with a photo of him and Trump talking at an election night event.
It’s unclear if Musk will have an official job in Trump’s White House. The new president has said he wants Musk to be his “secretary of cost-cutting,” but not part of the cabinet.
Musk’s role as an advisor to Trump looks certain, which could give him a lot of power over both U.S. and global issues, along with helping his business.
Musk said that the people of America had given Trump a “clear mandate for change.” This also seems like an unofficial endorsement for Musk and the social media platform he’s changing to fit his ideas about “free speech.”
