Dua Lipa didn’t just shake up the charts—she shook up her own team. The pop star cut ties with her longtime manager, David Levy, after finding out he was behind a letter urging Glastonbury Festival to drop pro-Palestinian rap group Kneecap. Imagine trying to silence artists and then getting exposed.
According to The Daily Mail, Levy’s name appeared at the end of the “private and confidential” email sent to festival founder Michael Eavis, asking for Kneecap’s removal over alleged links to Hezbollah. But once the email leaked and Dua found out, she was done with him.
An insider explained: “Dua ensured through her representatives that David Levy was no longer producing her music. She is extremely vocal pro-Palestine, and this doesn’t sit well with David.”
Dua Lipa Does Not Mind Taking A Side
This comes as no shock if you’ve followed Dua for even a moment. The Kosovan-born star has been outspoken in her support for Palestine. Last year, she told her 88 million Instagram followers about what she called “Israeli genocide” in Gaza. She’s also been seen at rallies denouncing the UK’s role in Gaza.
So it makes sense that she wouldn’t stick with a rep who went against everything she’s been standing for. She’s still signed with WME (William Morris Endeavor), but now she’s working with a new agent who, as they say, “more closely matches her energy.”
The Whole Kneecap Debacle
Meanwhile, Kneecap still performed at Glastonbury this summer, and the reactions were strong. Police received complaints, looked into it, and then dropped the case since there was no evidence of a crime. The group responded by calling it “political policing intimidation.”
For context, Kneecap member Mo Chara is facing charges for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag at a show last year, though his case is still unresolved. The controversy only gave their performance more attention on TV, while Glastonbury held firm on its decision.
Even though she’s firmly pro-Palestine, Dua has been clear that she doesn’t support Hamas either. She’s expressed sorrow for every Israeli life lost in the October 7 attacks. It’s giving nuance, empathy, and strength all at once, honestly.
This controversy isn’t slowing her down one bit. Dua’s Radical Optimism world tour is going strong, and just last night she lit up Madison Square Garden. Fans went crazy for “Don’t Start Now,” “Maria,” “Be the One,” and her Blondie cover of “One Way or Another,” along with a sweet shoutout to New York City.
The tour began in Singapore last November and will run through December 2025, with stops in cities like Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Rio, Bogotá, and more. She’s nonstop working—and breaking records along the way.
