Kate Phillips, BBC’s chief content officer, spoke openly about Doctor Who’s future, confirming the show will stay on the BBC “with or without Disney.”

The sci-fi show’s future has been unclear since Ncuti Gatwa left at the end of season 15, where he regenerated into Billie Piper in a shocking twist.
With Disney still deciding if it will keep working on the series, Phillips was questioned about its future at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
Any Whovians out there, rest assured – Doctor Who is going nowhere. Disney has been a great partnership and it continues with The War Between The Land And The Sea next year but, going forward, with or without Disney, Doctor Who will still be on the BBC. The TARDIS is going nowhere.

Lindsay Salt, BBC Drama director, said there’s no news on Doctor Who’s future right now but confirmed the BBC will “always stay committed” to the show.

Showrunner Russell T Davies has often said he doesn’t know what Disney will decide – though he already has plans for future seasons.
