Ruby Sunday will face off against a longtime enemy.
We’re now halfway through Doctor Who season 2, with four episodes aired and four more to go. So, when can you watch episode 5? This season’s fifth episode, titled “The Story and the Engine,” will be released this Saturday on BBC. Viewers outside the UK can also watch the show by using a VPN to access.
Millie Gibson, who stars in Doctor Who, has confirmed that one of Season 15’s villains will return in the finale, following an uncertain conclusion to last weekend’s episode, Lucky Day.
The story continues with Ruby Sunday (Gibson) after she leaves the TARDIS in the Season 14 finale, Empire of Death. She appears to be settling into a quiet life with her new boyfriend Conrad (played by The Little Mermaid’s Jonah Hauer-King).
However, things take a darker turn when it’s revealed that Conrad is connected to the radical group Think Tank, which seeks to cast doubt on both the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and UNIT, insisting the threats they’ve faced were fabricated.
The episode reached its climax when UNIT’s Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) released a real monster on the skeptical podcaster, who had earlier tried to ambush and expose its members.
While Lucky Day offered some closure, it also left viewers unsettled as Anita Dobson’s mysterious Mrs Flood unexpectedly released Conrad from custody, with her motives still unclear — though answers are on the way.
I can say that Jonah comes back – the battle is not won, He comes back and Russell [T Davies] has written an amazing script, as always. I come back as well and I’m reunited with the Doctor and Belinda, played by Varada Sethu.
teased Gibson during last night’s episode of The One Show
She’s an amazing companion so it was really great to get that three-person dynamic in the TARDIS, you don’t really see that often. There’s a lot to come!
Speaking about her replacement, Gibson added:
So far, details about Doctor Who Season 15’s two-part finale remain under wraps, but the titles — Wish World and The Reality War — hint at an epic scale similar to last year’s The Legend of Ruby Sunday and Empire of Death.
You can stream Doctor Who on BBC iPlayer, with new episodes dropping every Saturday.
