The new Deadpool and Wolverine movie has finally made more money at the U.S. box office than Barbie. This is Deadpool’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he brought Wolverine with him.
According to Variety, the Deadpool and Wolverine movie broke another record. After returning to theaters this weekend, it made an extra $679,000, enough to beat Barbie at the U.S. box office.
The movie now has $636.3 million, putting it in 12th place on the list of the highest-earning movies ever in the U.S. Barbie, with $636.238 million, is now in 13th place.
During its time in theaters, the Marvel movie got a lot of praise for doing things differently and surprising people, but it also broke a lot of records.
It had the sixth-biggest opening weekend ever in the U.S., holds the fifth spot for superhero movies, had the biggest opening for any R-rated movie, and set a record for the biggest July opening in history.
Now that it has passed Barbie, it’s still moving up the list of top-earning movies in the U.S. Check out the chart below to see the top 15 movies that have made the most money in the U.S.!

The Avengers (2012) | $623 million |
Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017) | $620 million |
The box office numbers for Deadpool & Wolverine are doing great, especially in a year when lots of movies didn’t do as well, like Megalopolis, Joker: Folie à Deux, and Borderlands.
It came out after Marvel had a tough time in 2023 when The Marvels didn’t make much money. But this movie shows that Marvel is still strong and popular in Hollywood. Beating Barbie, which was a huge hit all over the world, is definitely good news for Marvel Studios.
Even though Deadpool 3 didn’t make as much globally, it still did well around the world, earning almost $700 million outside the U.S. But Marvel still has some work to do to beat Barbie’s $1.3 billion total.
