Netflix in the U.S. is about to lose three big shows from The CW that added new seasons regularly while they were airing. Let’s go over the three shows that will soon be leaving Netflix in the U.S.
- Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Seasons 1-4 – 62 episodes) was a romantic musical comedy starring Rachel Bloom. The show, which aired from 2015 to 2019, won several awards. It follows a smart lawyer who quits her job to chase after an old crush.
- Jane the Virgin (Seasons 1-5 – 100 episodes) is a comedy-drama starring Gina Rodriguez. The story is about a young woman who is accidentally artificially inseminated during a regular doctor visit.
- iZombie (Seasons 1-5 – 71 episodes) is a comedy series starring Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, and Rahul Kohli. Based on a DC comic, it tells the story of a doctor who becomes a medical examiner after turning into a zombie. After eating brains, she gains the ability to solve crimes. People wanted to know where is izombie going after netflix, and the answer is down below.
CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television produced all three shows, except for iZombie, which was made only by WBTV. We think these shows might move to Max or return to The CW, but keep an eye on their schedules for updates.
These removals only affect Netflix in the United States. In other regions, these shows have already been taken off, like in the UK, where they left early in 2023.
When are the shows leaving? A notice on all devices for these shows says that the “Last day to watch” is September 5th. The shows will actually be removed on September 6th.
The shows are being removed about five years after their final seasons were added to Netflix. This timing matches the pattern for all the shows that came to Netflix through a big deal with the network during the 2010s. As of 2024, All American is the only show still coming to Netflix under this deal.
