Colman Domingo shared how much it means to him to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as the voice of villain Norman Osborn in a new Spider-Man animation.
The American actor and playwright, who earned an Oscar nomination for his role in the period drama Rustin, surprised fans at the Disney convention D23 by announcing his role in Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, with Hudson Thames voicing Spider-Man.
“He (Osborn) is the ultimate supervillain, and I’m stepping into the role that someone like Willem Dafoe played,” Domingo said during the Marvel Animations sneak peek for fans.
“I’m not sure why I’m drawn to villains, but it makes me wonder about myself. I’m a good person, but I think everyone has the potential to change if they don’t get enough love and support. That’s why I’m oddly attracted to playing villains. Being part of the Marvel Universe as Norman Osborn means everything to me.”
A sneak peek of the TV show reveals the moment Peter Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, turning him into Spider-Man. In the clip, you can hear Domingo as Osborn, giving Spider-Man advice on defending himself against bank robbers.

He confirmed that they are adding fresh twists to classic characters like Lonnie Lincoln and Dr. Curtis Connors while introducing new characters like Nico Minoru and Amadeus Cho, also known as Brawn.
