The cast and crew of Chucky are sad about the cancellation of the Syfy and USA show, but they believe our favorite killer doll will come back to life once more.
After Friday’s announcement that the Child’s Play spin-off will end after three seasons, creator Don Mancini hinted at the doll’s return on screen. Fans started a #RenewChucky campaign, while Mancini and the show’s stars shared their reactions to the cancelation. He expressed his gratitude, saying,
Jennifer Tilly, who returned to play Tiffany Valentine (and herself) in the series, also shared her thoughts online.
Devon Sawa, who played several characters on the show like Lucas Wheeler, Logan Wheeler, Father Bryce, President James Collins, and Randall Jenkins, stayed hopeful about the franchise’s future.
Fiona Dourif, who returned as Nica Pierce and even played a young Charles Lee Ray, a role originally done by her dad Brad Dourif, shared her feelings online.
The show’s cancellation on Friday came after Don Mancini shared in April that he was “really excited” about his idea for Season 4.
“I already pitched it to the network, so fingers crossed because it’s something I want to do,” he told The Direct.
Chucky premiered in 2021 and follows the deadly adventures of the famous killer doll. Along the way, he faces old enemies, reconnects with past allies, and finds new victims, spreading fear and chaos. The show was executive-produced by Don Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfoe.

Don Mancini started the Chucky series with Child’s Play in 1988, which he co-wrote with John Lafia and director Tom Holland. He also wrote Child’s Play 2 (1990), Child’s Play 3 (1991), Bride of Chucky (1998), Seed of Chucky (2004), Curse of Chucky (2013), and Cult of Chucky (2017). He directed the last three films as well.
Chucky aired for three seasons on Syfy and USA Network, expanding the seven-film franchise with a new story about the killer doll chasing a group of teenagers in New Jersey.
