The first big movie of 2025 is almost here! Disney and Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on February 14, during the Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day weekend. Tracking service Quorum predicts it could make $86M to $95M in its first three days. With the extra day over the long weekend, the total could easily go over $100M!
The box office prediction also considers the new cast and the fresh direction for the Captain America series. The upcoming movie takes a more grounded approach, similar to Captain America: Winter Soldier, which earned $95M during its first three days back in April 2014.
On Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World is the most talked-about movie coming out next month, with an awareness score of 58. That’s higher than Universal’s Wolf Man (44, releasing January 17), Lionsgate’s Flight Risk (37, releasing January 24), and Paddington in Peru (36), which also releases during Presidents’ Day weekend. The movie is most popular among men, but women under 35 are almost as aware of it as men over 35.

A lot of people are ready to pay to watch Captain America: Brave New World in theaters instead of waiting to stream it at home. Its score is 67, which is much higher compared to other upcoming movies like Wolf Man (57), Flight Risk (57), New Line’s horror movie Companion (37), and Paddington in Peru (45).
The movie, directed and co-written by Julius Onah, takes place after the events of Marvel’s Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the show, Sam Wilson takes up the shield left by Steve Rogers. The series was a big hit on Disney+, unlike Ms. Marvel, and the team hopes the fans’ excitement from the show will carry over to the opening weekend of Brave New World.
Marvel Studios holds the top three spots for the biggest 4-day openings during Presidents’ Day weekend. Black Panther leads with $242.1M in 2018, followed by Deadpool with $152.1M, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with $120.3M. For their 3-day openings, Black Panther earned $202M, Deadpool made $132.4M, and Quantumania brought in $106.1M.
Quorum, a tracking service, accurately predicted six weeks before release that Disney/Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine would open with over $200M, while other trackers guessed lower.
