Billie Eilish’s older brother, Finneas, responded to a TikTok creator who said Billie’s verse on Charli XCX’s song “Guess” was predatory.
On Friday, August 22, a TikTok user wrote that Billie’s verse was “high key predatory” and accused her of “queerbaiting.” Finneas defended his sister by posting a strong reply in the comments.
“Wow, what a joke you are! I had to see everyone online criticize my sister for pretending to be queer for a whole year. But the truth is, you were all pushing her to label herself and reveal her identity.”
A copy of the singer-producer’s reply spread on social media, and Billie Eilish’s fans defended her. Some people online pointed out that Charli XCX had given the okay for Billie’s part because it’s Charli’s song to begin with.
“Charli wouldn’t have put out the song if she didn’t like what Billie said,” A fan on X wrote.
Another user on X said, “Don’t people get it? Charli would have listened to the verse first and approved it before the song was released.”
“Don’t people know that it’s Charli’s song? If she wasn’t okay with it, the song would never have been released,” Another person wrote.
Other fans also liked that Finneas stood up for Billie Eilish online and saw him as a “protective” older brother to her.
All The Times Finneas Came To Billie Eilish’s Defense
The singer-songwriter and record producer’s recent comment on TikTok isn’t the first time he’s defended Billie Eilish. He’s always been a supportive older brother, not just by writing songs with her but also by standing up to online bullies.
In 2023, he famously supported Billie Eilish when she faced criticism for dating Jesse Rutherford, the lead singer of The Neighborhood, who is ten years older than her. Finneas didn’t let anyone make rude comments about his sister’s relationship.

In the comments of a December 26 TikTok video that criticized Billie for dating a 31-year-old man, he clearly stated that he has no issues with Billie and Jesse being together. He wrote:
“I want my sister to be happy and safe. She’s 21 and can make her own choices about her life.”
In 2021, he called out a now-deleted X account called “BillieUpdatesss” for spreading lies about his younger sister. That same year, he told The Sunday Times that he always tries to create the safest environment for Billie. With the help of their trusted team and parents, he works hard to protect her.
