The singer expressed their excitement and love, saying, “This is unbelievable! I love you all so much!” after reaching the milestone.
Billie Eilish is feeling happier than ever—and here’s why!
In June 2024, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter became the top-streamed artist on Spotify, according to a press release from the company on Monday, Aug. 20.
The next day, Billie Eilish posted on Instagram to share how amazed she felt and to thank her fans for their support.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Billie Eilish shared in a post that she reached the No. 1 spot with 100,105,704 monthly listeners. She wrote, “Number 1 in the world on Spotify—I can’t believe this is real.”
She also added, “I love you all so much! This is the wildest thing ever.”
Billie Eilish not only became the artist with the most monthly listeners but also the third and youngest person ever to hit 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The first two to reach this milestone were Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, who both cheered Billie on as she got closer to the goal.

On Aug. 15, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, shared a post from a Billie Eilish fan account on X (formerly Twitter). The post announced that she was “less than 1 million listeners away” from reaching the No. 1 spot. Billie Eilish’s latest achievement comes just three months after she released her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.
Released on May 17, the album was produced and co-written by her brother, Finneas, who has been her longtime collaborator. While working on the album, the siblings later shared that they had one of their biggest arguments ever.
When asked about their “biggest argument” while recording the album on Hot Ones Versus last month, Finneas, 27, responded,
“I like to put my feet up on the desk a lot, and Billie is sitting right there.”
The “Lunch” singer explained, “Finneas often has either bare feet or really dirty shoes. He puts them up right next to me, and my face is super close to them.”
On a more serious note, Finneas said that their longest and biggest argument happened during a time when they were both going through big changes. He mentioned that they were just trying to be honest with each other.
Finneas told Eilish, “I used to be really stuck up, saying things like, ‘You’re not being honest or true enough.’ Meanwhile, you were coming up with amazing melodies and rhythms. By the time we had great lyrics, everything else was finished.” He added that he “learned a lot from being too focused on himself.”
