AMC Networks’ Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches has added Breaking Bad alum Betsy Brandt as a series regular for its upcoming third season. Brandt will play a new character named Katherine, with production beginning this week in Vancouver, Canada.
According to AMC, Season 3 will “dive deeper into the mythology of witchcraft, introduce new spellbound families, and feature some of the historical happenings of Salem, Mass., the infamous town of witch trials and folklore.”
The hit supernatural series stars Alexandra Daddario alongside Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels.
Brandt, best known for portraying Marie Schrader on AMC’s Emmy-winning Breaking Bad, marks a return to the network. She also reprised the role in Better Call Saul’s finale and has appeared in Life in Pieces (CBS), The Michael J. Fox Show (NBC), and AMC’s anthology Soulmates. She is represented by TalentWorks, Patty Woo Management, Viewpoint, and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka.
Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is part of AMC’s growing Immortal Universe, which also includes Interview with the Vampire currently filming its third season (The Vampire Lestat), and Talamasca: The Secret Order, which premiered last weekend.
The third season of Mayfair Witches is executive produced by Mark Johnson, who oversees the Immortal Universe for AMC Networks, alongside co-showrunners Esta Spalding and Thomas Schnauz, and producers Michelle Ashford and Tom Williams.
