Fans who tuned into the latest episode of BBC’s The Great British Sewing Bee were left outraged by the recent elimination. Many took to social media to voice their frustration after Peter was sent home, with several insisting it was the “wrong decision.”
In Week Two, the contestants aimed to impress judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creativity. The first challenge involved crafting a seven-panel cap, followed by a transformation task where they turned old cycling gear into fresh new outfits. For the final round, called Made to Measure, each sewer had to design an athleisure look.
Despite strong efforts in all three tasks, both Peter and Saffie were eliminated. This double exit came after no one was sent home in the previous episode due to Glendora missing a challenge because of illness.

Now for the difficult bit. You’re all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter.
Host Sara Pascoe broke the news, saying:
The announcement didn’t sit well with fans. One viewer expressed their disappointment on X, writing:
“Disappointed to see Peter go, I think he had a lot more to give, his dress last week was fantastic! #SewingBee.”
Another agreed, posting: “#SewingBee It’s a Pity about Peter. He should’ve measured the model. But it’s a great show, starring Esme’s necklace.” [sic]
A third viewer added their thoughts, saying: “No way not Peter! Wrong decision #SewingBee.” Someone else echoed the sentiment: “Oh no, Peter! That was a bit of a shock, even though his made-to-measure wasn’t great. #SewingBee.”

Reflecting on his elimination, 45-year-old Peter said to the camera: “I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said, and I’ve learnt from them.”
I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn’t kept most of the challenges within time.
Saffie also shared her thoughts, saying:
Judge Esme Young explained their reasoning: “Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn’t well sewn.” Patrick Grant added: “Saffie, I’m disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie, but her execution let her down.”
The Great British Sewing Bee returns next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.
