Nicole Kidman’s movie Babygirl faced some tough competition when it came out, as it premiered around the same time as other popular films like Nosferatu, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Mufasa: The Lion King. Even though it lost 700 screens on its fourth weekend, the movie still earned $2 million. Overall, Babygirl has made $30 million worldwide, with $25 million coming from the U.S. and $5 million from other countries.
It’s now the 12th highest-earning movie from A24, beating We Live in Time starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, but still behind Heretic, a horror hit featuring Hugh Grant.
If Babygirl earns another $3 million in U.S. theaters before it stops showing, it will push Nicole Kidman’s total box office earnings in the U.S. to $2.5 billion. This is a rare achievement that only a few stars have reached.
The movie is also trying to make it into the top 50 highest-earning movies in the U.S. for 2024. Right now, it’s ranked #52, just ahead of Kraven the Hunter, but still behind Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.

Besides Nicole Kidman, the movie features Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw) and Antonio Banderas (The Mask of Zorro). It was written and directed by Halina Reijn, who made her first movie in 2022 with Bodies Bodies Bodies, a scary R-rated film starring Amandla Stenberg from The Acolyte.
Nicole Kidman, who has won an Academy Award, will star in a new R-rated thriller called Holland. The movie will also feature Gael García Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen, who starred in Succession.

After that, she’ll work with Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose on a true-crime show called Scarpetta. The show is about a forensic pathologist based on a book by Patricia Cornwell. Elizabeth Sarnoff is creating it.
Kidman is also set to team up with Sandra Bullock again for Practical Magic 2, a sequel to their 1998 fantasy movie that became popular on streaming in 2024. The sequel is still in the works, and there’s no release date yet.
