With only a few weeks before season 2 begins, one of Arcane’s co-creators is opening up about the show’s future. From the start, the creative team faced big challenges, which were explored in the YouTube documentary Arcane: Bridging the Rift. Their hard work paid off, earning praise from critics, fans, and even those who knew little about League of Legends.
The show holds an impressive 100% rating from critics and 96% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it’s confirmed that Arcane season 2, premiering on November 9, will mark the end of the animated series.
In a chat with Screen Rant, co-creator Christian Linke discussed what might come after Arcane season 2. He revealed that Arcane is “just the first one,” hinting that he and the creative team are working on several new projects within the popular world of League of Legends.

Some of these projects will even continue the stories of characters from Arcane. Linke added that they can imagine even bigger ideas now that Arcane is a success. You can read his full statement below.
Absolutely. Arcane is just the beginning. We’re developing a lot of new projects with fresh stories from different regions and characters within our world. Some of these will continue the journeys of characters from Arcane, so there are definitely character stories we want to keep exploring. Arcane was like our first big test, where we had to prove we could make it happen. Now that we have, we’re excited to dream even bigger. It’s really awesome.
Linke and his team faced a lot of doubt while creating Arcane and before sharing it with everyone. But season 1 proved they had what it takes to make a successful animated series based on League of Legends, earning praise from critics and fans everywhere. Fans felt disappointed when they learned that season 2 would be the last, but Linke’s recent comments should reassure them—the creators are just getting started.

It’s exciting that Linke mentions some character stories from Arcane that will continue in future projects. This, along with the possibility of new shows from the creators, is sure to spark fan discussions.

Fans are likely to wonder two things: which character stories will carry on, and which League of Legends champions will finally appear on screen. Since season 2 will focus on the Piltover-Zaun war, it seems likely the next show will follow the characters who make it through those events.
As a fan of Arcane, I’m excited to see what Linke and his team will create next with the rich League of Legends world. The Netflix series has so much to offer, from its unique animation style to its deep, well-developed characters. If they put the same dedication into their future projects as they did with Arcane, I’m all in and can’t wait to see the stories they’ll tell and the new characters they’ll introduce.
