Andrew Garfield recently mentioned in an interview with GQ UK that the rumors about him signing up for Marvel’s “Spider-Man 4” are not true. However, he admitted that comic book fans might not believe him.
This is because, back in 2021, Garfield kept denying that he would return as Spider-Man in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
But eventually, he did show up alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s versions of Spider-Man.

Their appearance helped the movie make $1.9 billion globally at the box office.
I’m gonna disappoint you. Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.
Garfield told the publication about “Spider-Man 4” rumors

If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun. Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.
When asked if he’d be interested in coming back as Spider-Man or signing on to star in another big-budget Hollywood franchise, the Oscar nominee answered
There are online rumors that Andrew Garfield might team up again with his “Silence” director, Martin Scorsese, to play Jesus in a new movie.
It’s not true to my knowledge. Garfield would love the chance to make another Scorsese movie, but you can’t just keep waiting for Scorsese to call, because he makes a movie every three years and a lot of the time Leo DiCaprio is in it.

Andrew Garfield first played Peter Parker in 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man,” but his time as the superhero ended quickly after 2014’s “Amazing Spider-Man 2” did not do well at the box office. He told Esquire magazine last year that he was “left dangling” when his Spider-Man role ended so suddenly. Coming back for “No Way Home” felt like a homecoming.
I thought Tobey is not going to want to do that. He’ll act every 10 years much to my chagrin, and I’ve shared that to him. When I heard that he was kind of leaning in I thought it was either going to be the greatest thing in the world or the worst thing in the world. I am so grateful because it was the most joyful thing ever. All the pressure was on Tom. I would 100% come back [as Spider-Man] if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into. I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.
Garfield admitted about his “No Way Home” doubts and he added
Talking about “Spider-Man 4,” Holland mentioned on the “Rich Roll Podcast” last month that the pitch for the movie was “excellent.”
The writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.
