Alien: Earth has just premiered, but creator Noah Hawley is already thinking ahead. The FX and Hulu series takes the classic Xenomorph in a new direction, and Hawley has hinted that Season 2 isn’t only likely — he already knows where it’s going. In a new interview, he gave a big update about Season 2:
I do. I do. I mean, I think that I have a destination in mind story-wise, which allows me to know what the story is I’m telling, what it means. And I don’t know how long it takes to get there, but I do have a sense of where we go in success. And you know, the question becomes: how streamlined can we make the process so that you’re not waiting for three, or four, or five years for more?
The “destination” is major news for fans, especially since Season 1 is already setting up a huge showdown between Weyland-Yutani, Prodigy, and the Xenomorphs hidden inside Neverland’s facility.

Many believe the finale will release the creatures into a big city — a move that could drive the bigger, more expansive Season 2 Hawley is teasing.

FX clearly has long-term plans for the show. Back in 2024, network head John Landgraf told Variety that Hawley would focus more on Alien than Fargo.
We’re pretty bullish on Alien: Earth and we’ve told him that assuming, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a returning television series, we want him to focus on at least writing two seasons of it before returning to a possible sixth season of Fargo.
With eight episodes, Season 1 is digging into Xenomorph weaknesses, the making of Synths, Hybrids, and Cyborgs, and the five mega-corporations fighting for dominance. But the main character everyone is watching is Wendy (Sydney Chandler), a hybrid whose strange link to the Xenomorphs hints at a dark turn in Season 2.
Season 2 could also dive deeper into the other three corporations barely shown so far and push Wendy’s story in shocking directions. Some fans think she may end up as the villain, with her hybrid powers making her the most dangerous figure in the series. For now, though, it’s clear the story is just beginning.
Alien: Earth is streaming now on Hulu.
