It’s been two years since fans watched the exciting ending of Alice in Borderland Season 2, and now Netflix is hinting that new episodes are coming soon. This week, Netflix shared on social media that Season 3 will be released in 2025.

Netflix took its time bringing Alice in Borderland Season 3 to life. The show was renewed a whole year after Season 2 came out. By then, many fans thought the series had been canceled, so the news about a new season was a big surprise. Season 2 wrapped up most of Arisu’s (played by Kento Yamazaki) story, but it also left some loose ends that could lead to more adventures.

The biggest twist for Season 3 of Alice in Borderland is that most characters don’t remember anything about what happened in Borderland. This means the show might have to find a clever way to bring everyone back or even make the games come to them.

Another option could be to change the main cast completely. But if the manga is a clue, the show will keep the games going and finally reveal the ultimate game master—the one tied to the mysterious Joker card.
At the end of Season 2, Arisu and Usagi (played by Tao Tsuchiya) defeated the Queen of Hearts, and it seemed like the games were over as fireworks lit up the sky in Borderland. The Queen told them they were in a virtual game set 1,000 years in the future, but we don’t know if she was telling the truth. We also don’t know what happened to the other players who didn’t have to play any games to survive.
Alice in Borderland is based on a famous manga by Japanese writer Haro Aso. The show was made for TV and directed by Shinsuke Sato, who also worked on the movie Kingdom. Sato is set to direct the live-action movie for My Hero Academia, but there hasn’t been much news about that project in a while.
