Alana Haim, the singer and member of the rock band Haim, continues her acting journey after her debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza. She has secured two major movie roles back to back. First, she’s working on The Mastermind, an art heist film with Josh O’Connor, directed by Kelly Reichardt.
After that, she’ll start filming The Drama, a movie directed by Kristoffer Borgli, where she stars alongside Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The Mastermind takes place during the Vietnam War and the early days of the women’s liberation movement in America.

Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani, and Vincent Savino from Filmscience are producing The Drama. Mubi, the global film distributor, production company, and streaming service, is financing and distributing the movie.
The story focuses on a couple, played by Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, who face a crisis just before their wedding when unexpected secrets come to light. It explores how love can sometimes blind people, according to sources. Borgli also wrote the script.
Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone from Square Peg are producing the film, which begins shooting later this month.

As part of the band Haim, Alana Haim has earned two Grammy nominations and performed on Saturday Night Live, with popular songs like “Want You Back” and “Little of Your Love.”
She made her acting debut in the 2021 comedy-drama Licorice Pizza, starring alongside Cooper Hoffman. The movie was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, a fan of the band who had directed several of their music videos.
