Alan Carr has revealed that he won’t be using comedy as part of his plan to win The Celebrity Traitors.

The 49-year-old comedian admitted that instead of relying on jokes, he’ll be drawing on his past experience working in a call centre to get through the BBC game show.
This year’s line-up includes stars like Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church and Kate Garraway, who will join Claudia Winkleman in the castle on Wednesday.
There will be a different side to me. I’ll have to adapt; no comedy, it’s one of those shows where you have to shape-shift. You have to chat to people you wouldn’t normally chat with just to see if they are hiding anything. I don’t think it’s a case of how good you are at being a traitor or a faithful. It’s how you adapt and how you draw on your social skills. I’ve worked in a call centre where I had to deal with one thing after another, so I think my call-centre skills are going to come in handy.
Ahead of the show, Alan said
Alan isn’t the only one with a plan. Jonathan Ross said his natural distrust of celebrities will help him in the game.
I’ve watched all the versions around the world and I love playing games. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be in the castle. It’s one of those experiences that money can’t buy to actually be in The Traitors after you’ve watched it so many times. Because, of course, we all watch it at home and love it at home, and I’m really fascinated to find out how it feels to be right in the middle of the action. Also, because I don’t trust any celebrities, I think I’m going to immediately assume they’re all traitors.
He explained
The former Chatty Man star also said he wants to win to “wipe the smirk of his friends faces”.
According to The Mirror, Alan thought his agent had booked him gigs for the second week, while his friends believed he’d be eliminated in the first week.
It’s also reported that diver Tom brought “a suitcase of wool” to help himself and the others relax after the tense days. Tom admitted he wants to win and is competitive, but also said his weakness is that he trusts people too easily.

Even though the first celebrity series hasn’t aired yet, a second one is already said to be confirmed.
Another celebrity version of the BBC hit is apparently “in the bag”, according to The Sun.
Bosses expect strong ratings, as the most recent civilian series reached seven million viewers per episode. Before the launch on BBC One, producers are already said to be planning the next line-up.

It’s not yet clear who will be Faithful or Traitor this time, but with such big personalities involved, drama is expected. Claudia Winkleman has already made it clear that there will be no special treatment for celebrities, so they will face the same unusual and tough challenges as everyone else.
The Celebrity Traitors is landing at the very peak of the format’s popularity, it’s the biggest show on the box, globally, and the cast is exceptional. Everyone knows something would have gone incredibly wrong if this didn’t become the TV event of the year. The official message is that a formal recommission depends how well series one does, but in reality it’s all but a done deal. It would be foolhardy for any faithful to foreshadow what the future could entail.
