The wait is over for “Star Wars” fans excited about Ahsoka’s return! There’s great news: the show’s second season is scheduled to start filming next spring. IndieWire reports that production for Ahsoka Season 2 will move to the United Kingdom, with filming beginning in April 2025.
This is a change from Season 1, filmed on volume stages in Los Angeles at Manhattan Beach Studios. These stages use wraparound LED screens that create digital environments in real time, replacing traditional green screens.
This news surprised many because, back in September 2024, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (who plays Sabine Wren) mentioned at Dragon Con 2024 that filming was expected to start in the summer of 2025. She shared this during a panel with other “Star Wars” actors like Giancarlo Esposito, Manny Jacinto, and Danny Trejo.

Fans are thrilled about this earlier start, especially after the cliffhangers in Season 1 left everyone eager for more. The first season aired in late summer to early fall 2023, introducing beloved characters from Star Wars Rebels and The Clone Wars into live-action. The show became a hit for its visuals, storytelling, and strong characters like Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson) and Sabine.
Fans also loved seeing Hayden Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker, appearing as a ghostly and charming guide.
Now, fans eagerly await what’s next!
The newest Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, started streaming on Disney+ earlier this week. The show is about four kids who get lost in the galaxy and meet a mysterious Force user named Jod Na Nawood, played by Jude Law. The story takes place during the New Republic era, at the same time as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

In other Star Wars news, a movie featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to release in May 2026. This movie will likely come out before Ahsoka Season 2. The Mandalorian movie just finished filming and will star Pedro Pascal, who returns as the voice (and sometimes the face) of Din Djarin, the Mandalorian. Grogu will also be in the movie as himself.
You can watch Ahsoka Season 1 now on Disney+. Stay tuned for more updates!
