The new series is a spin-off of 2021’s WandaVision. Kathryn Hahn returns as the super fun villain, Agatha Harkness, dealing with the aftermath of her battle with Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen).
At the end of WandaVision, Wanda takes away Agatha’s powers and makes her stay as the nosy neighbour in Westview. Agatha had chosen this disguise at the beginning to hide who she was.
In Agatha All Along, the witch returns. Even though she has no powers now, she is back and determined to remember who she used to be.
Kathryn Hahn is already super fun as Agatha, but Agatha All Along gets even better. Aubrey Plaza from The White Lotus and Broadway star Patti LuPone will join as Agatha’s witch friends, Rio Vidal and Lilia Calderu.
Joe Locke, known from Heartstopper, is making his first TV appearance in another show. Fans think he will play William Kaplan, also known as Billy Kaplan or Wiccan, who is Wanda’s son. It will be exciting to see how their relationship unfolds.
Now, fans can finally see Joe Locke in action, as the trailer has been released after months of waiting and several title changes. These changes turned out to be a great marketing strategy.
The trailer starts with Agatha working as a detective and handling a murder case. While she’s examining the body in the morgue, Rio (played by Plaza) shows up and encourages her to find her lost witch powers.
Agatha says, “She took all my power, but I can be that witch again.”
The rest of the trailer shows how scary Agatha can be when she teams up with her fellow witches with intense battles and deadly curses.
Earlier this month, Marvel’s streaming chief promised that Agatha All Along would be “really scary”. Judging by this trailer, he wasn’t wrong.
Fans think they’ve figured out who Joe Locke will play in the series. They guessed Wiccan might be in it, and since he’s one of MCU’s main gay superheroes, casting gay actor Locke seemed like a good choice.
It’s suggested that Joe Locke’s character in Agatha All Along doesn’t fit the typical superhero mold. It’s also said that WandaVision and its spin-off resonate with LGBTQ+ people because they’re about misunderstood individuals who feel out of place in society.
Our first look at Joe Locke in Agatha All Along suggests he’ll bring some queer representation with painted nails, makeup, and dramatic performance. Exciting!
The first two episodes of Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ on September 18th, followed by the remaining seven episodes airing until November. Until then, you can catch up on Marvel’s previous movies and stay tuned for more exciting announcements from the Marvel universe.
