MCU fans have loved the phrase “Agatha All Along” ever since the song played in WandaVision when it was revealed that quirky neighbor Agnes was actually Agatha Harkness. Played by Kathryn Hahn, it took three years before Agatha got her own solo series. For seven weeks, viewers tuned in on Disney+, watching Agatha All Along during the Halloween season as they explored the Witches’ Road and tried to uncover how Agatha would regain her “purple” powers and who Teen is.
Despite the excitement, a year-end report by Luminate revealed that Agatha All Along outperformed only one MCU Disney+ show from 2023 to 2024. Loki Season 2 led the rankings with about 3 billion minutes watched in its first 12 weeks, followed by Secret Invasion. Agatha All Along placed third, with Echo trailing behind.
From the start, there were worries that Agatha All Along might get review bombed. This happens when people leave fake negative ratings before a show is even released, just to lower its score on sites like Rotten Tomatoes. However, this didn’t happen. In fact, Agatha All Along now has the highest scores on Rotten Tomatoes among the four shows mentioned in Luminate’s year-end report. It holds an 84% Critic’s Score and an 83% Audience Score.

Loki Season 2 follows close behind with 82% for both its Critic’s and Audience scores. Next is Echo, while Secret Invasion lands in last place. Many fans felt Secret Invasion helped move Marvel’s overall story forward but didn’t do well in most other areas.

Shows like Agatha All Along and Loki worked so well because they balanced the bigger MCU story with strong character growth. In Agatha All Along, Agatha dies at the end—not fully redeemed (should she be?)—and returns as a ghost to guide Billy (played by Joe Locke).
This idea comes straight from the comics. With Agatha’s help, Billy learns to control his powers as Wiccan, searches for Tommy, and helps move the MCU’s story forward. At the same time, Agatha might finally find some closure while the Young Avengers start their own journey.
