With many new shows being released almost every day, Prime Video subscribers have lots of new content to watch. Still, the platform’s biggest summer teen drama has beaten all the competition and returned to the number one spot on the worldwide Top 10 chart, even more than a month after its finale.
According to FlixPatrol, The Summer I Turned Pretty is still heating up screens around the world, topping charts in countries like Argentina, Australia, Germany, Hungary, and more. It’s holding off rivals like The Terminal List: Dark Wolf and Countdown, and even new hits like Season 2 of Gen V can’t take its place.
The past few months have shown that teenage book adaptations are a safe choice for strong viewership. The third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty started in mid-July and quickly gained a big audience as fans watched to see how the central love triangle would end. Around the same time, another book-based show, We Were Liars, also performed strongly after its June 18 release. When both were streaming, these teen dramas managed to beat the summer’s intense action shows, staying on top week after week.

Fans were emotional when it was confirmed that the third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty would end the story of Belly (Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney), and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). And, while it’s smart to end on a high note, the show’s numbers were too good to stop there. Just days after the finale, Amazon MGM Studios announced that a movie had been approved, likely continuing Jenny Han’s story with Belly and Conrad’s romance and “living happily ever after — with a few bumps along the way, of course.”
