Okay so I’ve watched this movie over and over and over again over the past 23 years, everytime it gives me the chill factor and no other ‘found footage’ movie has beaten it. The sequel ‘book of shadows’ was absolutely mortifyingly bad, ‘Blair witch’ meh, better but nowhere near as good. This is literally one of the best horror movies of all time in my opinion. The less you see, the better your imagination makes up for.

I understand this movie is not award worthy. However, as always. I wish it was watched for what it is. Especially in todays world of recording. The way it makes fun of itself, and acknowledges the previous film. The way they showed the town, and towns people. While actors, still cool. The psychological aspect. Not particularly an ending with a twist. But there are levels of it that I did not expect. I enjoyed the film, as I hope others will. I do see the tempo has changed slightly, and the film is getting its worth. Thanks to streaming platforms providing it during Halloween. Either way, I will keep this in my film collection for the holidays.

I found it very effective and I loved the story. With the exception of the unethical marketing campaign, it has everything that made the first movie effective and then some. (Yes, I know the marketing is MOSTLY what people found effective about the first film, but that magic can never be captured again, so let it go.)
My only complaint is that there were too many false jump scares.
If you’re not burnt out on found footage and you’re open to the idea of a Blair Witch sequel, give it a shot. There’s not much else to say without spoilers. I just wanted to stop by and offset some of the hate.
